A 2011 graduate of The Woodlands College Park High, he teamed with the Legends’ Ryan O’Hearn at Sam Houston State. As a college freshman, Toups started all 62 games. He sat out his sophomore season due to injury. As a junior, he batted .310 while leading the team in runs and tying for the team lead in doubles and stolen bases.
